Essay Topics on Fascism

Essay Topics on FascismEssay topics on fascism are a frequent topic of discussion in the humanities. And it is a topic that students should be very familiar with, because they will most likely be asked to write one or more of them in college. Most of the points about fascism that a student should know about include the following:Fascism has been around for a long time. Most fascists, of course, are old enough to have experienced fascism. In fact, older fascist regimes have a long record of violence, repression, and repressive policies. But they are not permanent, and you can't always see it in their actions, because fascism changes in order to survive. Some of the modern fascist movements were born in the United States and in Western Europe, where nationalism and socialism tend to be viewed as enemies of capitalism. Some of these movements do attempt to embrace socialism, but they tend to go a step further and advocate nationalization of the means of production, statism, and the state in general. Fascism can mean different things to different people, but in general it is an authoritarian movement that creates a state-based ideology.More often than not, fascist movements are supported by a wealthy elite who do not want a socialist takeover. The wealthy elite may not want a revolution by the people, but they do want to seize power and use it to maintain their own privileges and those of their class. This is how they justify their support for fascism; they use the rhetoric of national liberation and economic freedom to justify their actions. The European Union is an example of a fascist movement that was created in an attempt to promote and preserve a free market economy. Of course, it was never going to do so if all the people were being controlled by a state. The presence of capitalism, as well as liberal democracy, makes fascism impossible, but the presence of a nation-state makes it possible. The EU had its origins in World War II, and for the first few decades it operated quite happily.Because all governments act as dictatorships and have authoritarian structures, it is possible to create a society that is authoritarian and still be capitalist. This is why anarchism is very popular in most countries, because it is able to maintain the capitalist features of the free market without all the restrictions. As such, it is also considered by many to be a form of fascism. As you can see, there are plenty of differences between fascism and anarchism. Although both reject social democratic democracy, they are two completely different ideologies. It is possible to have an anti-capitalist society and still be against the state. However, you can't have both, and fascism does this too.An authoritarian state is an interesting phenomenon, because it is something that most people don't like to think about. Yet it exists, and so we need to learn about it if we are going to develop effective ways of thinking about it and finding a solution. I hope you will please consider all this.
